Did you know that the majority of San Diego County’s human trafficking victims were involved in the child dependency (or welfare) system?
Join the Junior League of San Diego’s Advocacy Committee and a local panel of experts at the 2014 Community Outreach Forum to explore the connection between transition-age foster youth and human trafficking, why these two populations over-lap so frequently and what JLSD and members of the community can do to break this vicious cycle.
The panel will feature Charisma De Los Reyes (MSW, Child Welfare Services), Gerald Fineman (Deputy District Attorney for Riverside County), James F. Gates (Ph.D., Professor and Director, Center for Justice and Reconciliation at Point Loma Nazarene), and will be moderated by Melanie Delgado, (Attorney, Children’s Advocacy Institute).
Location: University of San Diego Warren Auditorium, Mother Rosalie Hall (SOLES) 5998 Alcala Park, San Diego, CA 92110
Date: Wednesday October 29th 2014.
Time: The Welcome reception will begin at 6:00 with the program starting at 6:45.
**The event will be held at Warren Auditorium inside the School of Leadership and Education Studies building on the beautiful University of San Diego (USD) campus.
