The JLSD Board Academy is an 8 session engaging and dynamic program that trains current and future community members on how to become effective leaders of a nonprofit Board of Directors.
Interactive training will be provided by local non-profit experts on the following topics:
- Board roles and responsibilities
- Developing strategic plans
- Measuring impact
- Monitoring financial status
- Understanding your role in public policy
- Learning how to engage the community as a Board member
Members will graduate from the Board Academy series with the knowledge, skills and confidence to become an active and productive Board member.

JLSD Board Academy 2017 training dates are: February 6th, 15th and 27th; March 13th and 27th; April 10th and 24th; and May 1st. Each session is from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at 210 Maple, with a social and dinner beginning at 6pm. A certificate of completion will be issued to those who attend 6 of the 8 trainings.
